Description
The applicant is requesting a minor variance from Interim Control By-law 19-100. The Interim Control By-law was passed June 19, 2019 to limit development affecting the lands zoned residential on the north and south side of River Road so that the City can undertake a land use policy study in the area.Section 45(1) of the Planning Act permits the Committee of Adjustment to authorize minor variances to an Interim Control By-law. As such, the applicant is requesting the following variance from By-law 19-100 to permit an 8.9 m2 (95.8 ft2) addition to the existing dwelling whereas the Interim Control By-law only permits construction, alterations, or expansions for decks, pools, patios, fences, porches, and accessory buildings in accordance with the applicable zoning regulations. The applicant is requesting the variances from the Interim Control By-law to facilitate the construction of a front entryway addition to the main house. The subject property is adjacent to a cultural heritage landscape. The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee (MHAC) waived the requirement for a Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) at the November MHAC meeting.
