Description
The City of Cambridge is requesting a minor variance from Zoning By-law 150-85 to permit a 0 m setback where 7.5 m (24.6 ft.) is required in an OS4 Open Space zone abutting any R-class zone. The existing building is currently straddling the property lines of 16 Kribbs Street (OS4 Open space zoning) and 22 Kribs Street (R4 Residential zoning). Both properties are owned by the City and are intended to be merged on title. The purpose of this application is to permit the City to demolish and rebuild the washroom facilities in Forbes Park to accommodate the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements. The newly constructed building requires a 0 m setback to the residential zone. This application is undergoing the site plan review process under file SP16/19.
What this kind of application is
The Committee of Adjustment decides minor variances (small exceptions to the zoning by-law, such as a reduced setback or an extra unit) and consents (severing a lot, or adding an easement). Nearby owners are mailed a notice and can speak at the hearing.
